Typing URL in your browser is a safe measure from phishing attacks
This is not the reliable measure to keep away phishers. There are two dangers of phishing i.e. Pharming and Malware. Pharming which is also known as "domain name poisoning" attacks intercept legitimate URLs en route to their destination and redirect the requests to bogus sites. The only safe measure against pharming is to type or bookmark the address of the site's secure log-on page (it should begin with https:), you also should be on the lookout for warnings from your browser that the page's security certificate is invalid, in case the pharming attack has gone deeper. Whereas malware is phishing by rewriting your PC's Hosts file or otherwise hijacking your browser. One can avoid phishing attacks by keeping their system patched, firewall running, and spyware and virus scanners up to date.
