High-protein and low-carbohydrate diet is not a healthy way to lose weight. Though the long term effects of this diet are unknown but taking only protein foods like meat, eggs and cheese is not a balanced eating plan and will make you prone to diseases like kidney stones and gout because having less than 130 gm carbohydrates in your diet will build up ketones in your blood which will cause your body to produce high levels of uric acid which is the major reason of kidney diseases. Also having fewer fiber like fruits and vegetables may lead to constipation. You may also feel nauseous, tired, and weak. The healthy and effective way to reduce weight is to follow a balanced diet and regular physical activity.
